Western Montana rattled by strong earthquakes – Los Angeles Times

Two strong earthquakes have hit western Montana.

The U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck early Thursday about six miles southeast of Lincoln.

A magnitude 4.5 quake rattled the same general area within a half hour of the bigger one.

The Independent Record reports that people felt the magnitude 5.8 earthquake as far away as Bozeman, Idaho, and Great Falls.
